Project Overview
Mondes Projects worked with a London housing association to install solar panels on 500 residential properties in East London. The goal was to provide affordable clean energy, lower residents’ utility bills, and contribute to the city’s climate goals.
Challenges
The project had to overcome financial, logistical, and technical barriers to ensure seamless installation across multiple housing units. It also required a scalable energy solution that would provide long-term value to residents without burdening them with upfront costs.
Our Approach
- Energy Needs Assessment – We conducted energy consumption studies to determine the ideal solar capacity for each housing unit.
- Scalable Solar Panel Installation – High-efficiency photovoltaic panels were strategically installed on rooftops to maximise sun exposure and energy generation.
- Battery Storage Solutions – Battery systems were integrated in selected homes to store excess solar energy, ensuring residents could access power even during low sunlight periods.
- Community Engagement & Training – We provided educational workshops to residents, helping them understand their new energy system and how to maximise savings.
- Funding & Subsidy Support – Our team helped the housing association access green energy grants and government incentives, reducing overall project costs.
Results & Impact
- 25% reduction in residents’ utility bills, making sustainable energy more accessible to low-income communities.
- Increased energy independence, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and traditional grid electricity.
- Significant CO₂ reductions, cutting carbon emissions across the housing network.
- Improved energy resilience, ensuring a more stable and reliable power supply for residents.
