Mondes Research

Sustainable research to make the world a better place.

To complement our commitment to driving positive environmental and social change, Mondes Projects Ltd conduct research on sustainability both in the UK and internationally, allowing us to gain insights from diverse perspectives. Different countries possess unique environmental, social, and economic contexts, which present distinct sustainability challenges and opportunities, enabling us to acknowledge best sustainable practices and innovations worldwide and apply these initiatives domestically.

Researching on a global scale provides Mondes Projects a broader understanding of emerging trends and technologies, fosters innovative thinking, and establishes strategic partnerships, ensuring we remain at the forefront of sustainable practices in an ever evolving global incentive.

Sustainable Cities

Mondes Projects have undertaken research studies into the feasibility and benefits of sustainable city implementation in multiple cities throughout the UK, considering planning policies and implications, green space, natural resources, transport, current infrastructure, and the perception of the general public. We also undertook research throughout the Netherlands to understand how their efficient and sustainable transport system works so effectively and how it was implemented and accepted by the people.  Practicalities of implementing sustainable infrastructure in the short, medium and long term will be assessed against exiting sustainable city infrastructure, ease of implementation and general acceptance in cities both in the UK and internationally, allowing recommendations to be made to encourage green space, sustainable public transport and economic growth throughout the UK. Studies have also been undertaken to assess the impact of increased private motoring emissions on local environments if sustainable infrastructure does not begin to come into fruition throughout cities within the UK.

People and Places

Mondes Projects have undertaken extensive research on the impacts of the built environment on the people and how this can be mitigated. Performing in-depth research on Urban Heat Islands in multiple urban areas, along with public opinion surveys which were compared to statistical facts. Once data had been analysed, the potential mitigation impacts of vegetation were considered, highlighting the importance of implementing ‘green space’ into built environments. Mondes Projects will be undertaking similar research throughout Europe over the next 2 years to understand how this issue is tackled internationally, improving the health and wellbeing of the public, to be proposed and implemented domestically throughout the UK.

The Environment

Mondes Projects have undertaken research on anthropogenic influences on multiple aspects of the environment, to better understand how people are impacting the planet. We have recently undertaken a study to investigate the changes in hydrodynamics, sediment dynamics and fluvial processes in an Ambleside river overtime, and how many of these changes are likely due to human influence. Mondes Projects have also undertaken environmental monitoring on a number of high risk areas throughout the UK, including; dust, groundwater and air monitoring, collating and analysing data to allow better insight into environmental conditions of the areas and to make recommendations for future preservation.
