Mapping Success: Geospatial Mapping and Aerial Surveys

GIS Surveying and Mapping

Mondes Projects recently undertook a project aimed at promoting nature recovery and rewilding. By employing GIS surveying to identify potential areas for ecological restoration, including nature corridors and eco-gardens across the landscape then layering various datasets, such as existing biodiversity, soil health, and hydrological features, we pinpointed prime locations that could benefit from intervention and enhancement, fostering a resilient ecosystem. The aim of this project was to encourage rewilding and support the reintroduction of native plant and animal species to areas throughout the South of England, while identifying the areas with the most potential. Mondes Projects created a successful masterplan to enable out client to commence nature recovery and promote a more sustainable future for the area.

Aerial Surveying

Mondes Projects have recently been commissioned to complete a project involving the deployment aerial drone surveys to address facilities management issues within student accommodation buildings. Through high-resolution aerial imagery and real-time inspections, we identified structural concerns, such as roof wear, drainage problems, and other maintenance needs allowing advocation for not only ecological initiatives but also ensuring that student living spaces remain safe, sustainable, and conducive to a vibrant campus life, effectively bridging the gap between environmental stewardship and community well-being.
